Already a Diver

If you are already a diver then thats amazing! You have two options: continue your training with BUUCs OR come diving with BUUCs! Either way you go diving!

Continuing training:

Wether you’ve done your training through BSAC, PADI, SSI, or ABCDEFGH… it doesn’t matter, BUUCs is able to help you progress your diving in some way or another. Here’s the comparison so you can see where you stand with your current qualification.

Sports Diver Training

Sports diver (SD) training is most peoples second major course (after advanced open water). The SD training consists of 6 theory sessions, 1 pool session, 5 open water lessons, and 2 dry practical lessons (covering basic life support and dive management). With this qualification you will be able to:

  • Plan dives to a max depth of 40m with a suitably qualified buddy and dive manager
  • Carry out dives requiring mandatory decompression stops
  • Conduct further training such as twinset diver, or technical diver training
  • Start your instructor journey by assisting to teach in the pool (subject to completing your instructor foundation course)

More information on the sports diver course can be found on BSACs website but please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

Dive Leader Training

Already a SD or a PADI-rescue equivilant? That amazing! The next step is the dive leader training. This training consists of 5 theory sessions, 5 open water sessions, and 3 dry practical sessions in which you demonstrate that you can run a safe an effective diving trip to a know location. Once qualified as a DL you will be able to:

  • Run your own trips to sites know to yourself or other club members
  • Continue your training to depths of 50m + with additional courses
  • Teach divers in open water with supervision of a full instructor (subject to completing your instructor foundation course)
  • Fully get into your instructor path by taking your open water instructor courses and exams

Again you can find more information on the dive leader course on BSACs website.

EVEN MORE?!?!

If thats not enough then we are able to offer further training such as Advanced Diver or other specialty courses. These are usually organised in year and sorted directly between yourself and an instructor!
